Machiel (1993) is a belgian guitar player and composer with work that puts emphasis on composition and the use of electronic effects.

In 2018 Machiel founded the band ‘Abstract INC.’, a sextet that forms a symbiose between improvisation and composition and released their latest album 'Goodbye Big Idea' in October '23.

With his jazz/rock trio 'Teddy's Brain Drain' the focus is on simple and honest melodies. In march 2023 their first EP was released.

As described, Machiel also experiments with sounds, electronica and free improvisation. This you can hear in the duo HEREMANS/SENSMEIER, a band together with german/danish saxophone player Jon Sensmeier. In february '24 they released their the album 'Some Idea's arrive in the form of a Dream.

Finally there is ‘No Wasabi’. A duo guitar band together with Rebekka Van Bockstal. Together they write and create for this band and in November 2019 this band released their first CD.
